AUSTIN Hartel 

Obté el Master of Arts, especialització de Dansa i Multimèdia Integrada a Califòrnia Institute of the Arts (ColArts). A la North Carolina School of Arts, rep el seu llicenciatura en Belles Arts, especialitat, Dansa. Director Artístic de el Grup de Dansa Hartel, aporta la seva àmplia experiència a aquest nou emprenedoria. Durant 10 anys exerceix el càrrec de director artístic de Dalton-Hartel Dance, que gira a nivell nacional i internacional, a tot Europa, Amèrica de Sud i Corea, participant en prestigiosos festivals com el Festival Vignale Dansa, la Dansa de Florència, Festival de la Versiliana i Festival a Itàlia, el 5è Festival de Dança Fer, Mercosur, Bento Gonçalves, Brasil, el VI Seminari Internacional de Dansa a Brasília, Brasil, rebent els elogis de la crítica. Balla durant 5 anys com a solista i co-coreògraf de Pilobolus Dance Theater, fent presentació a tot el món i la televisió. També en les següents companyies: The Frank Holder Dance Company, Dendy Dansa i Teatre i la Companyia d'Opera de Filadèlfia, José Limón Dance Company, Dances we Dance, The Charlotte Opera, Valley Forge Dance Theater, entre d'altres.

Les seves coreografies han estat presentades a la ciutat de Nova York, a la Sylvia i Danny Kaye Playhouse, El Mulberry Street Theater, Hudson Guild Theater, Dance Theater Workshop, Clark Studio Theater al Lincoln Center i l'Església de Sant Marc entre altres llocs. Coreografia per: la Companyia Teatre Nuovo de Torí, Itàlia, El Ballet Nacional de Surinam i el Ballet Nacional de Paraguai, "Al Vuitè Dia." El 1995, va ser co-coreògraf de l'Opera, "La Flauta Màgica", dirigit per John Eliot Gardiner, que gira per Europa durant quatre mesos. Va ser seleccionat pel Departament d'Estat dels Estats Units de Nord Amèrica, per funcionar com un especialista de la Cultura el 1990, i des de llavors ha viatjat a través d'Amèrica Central i de Sud en representació d'Amèrica Art i Cultura per a l'ensenyament de la Dansa i la realització de conferències.

Actualment Coordina el Programa de Dansa Moderna a l'Escola de Dansa de la Facultat de la Universitat d'Oklahoma. Beneficiat per la Beca Fulbright, convidat pel Ballet Nacional de Paraguai i l'Institut Superior de Belles Arts, es troba desenvolupant un important treball docent i coreogràfic de juliol a desembre de 2009 a Assumpció- Paraguai

Austin Hartel has led a distinguished career es a dancer and choreographer.

Hartel was co-choreographer and a Soloist for five years with Pilobolus Dance Theater, making Appearances worldwide and on televisió, twice on the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson. In 1989, he left Pilobolus to found, with Lisa Dalton, Dalton-Hartel Dance, which has since toured throughout the continental United States, as well as Hawaii, Europe, Korea, and South and Central America.

Hartel has danced with, among others, the José Limón Dance Company, Dances We Dance, the Frank Holder Dance Company, the Opera Company of Philadelphia, Peter Pucci Plus Dancers and Tandy Beal.

In the spring and summer of 1995, Hartel was assistant choreographer for the Mozart opera The Magic Flute, directed by John Eliot Gardiner, which toured Europe for four months.

Hartel 's Choreographic commissions include works for Company Teatre Nuovo of Turin, Italy, Akasha Dance Company in Chicago, the National Ballet of Surinam, the Sylvia and Danny Kaye Playhouse in New York City, and the New Arts Festival in Fort Myers, Florida.

In 1990 Hartel choreographed the Lucien Rochat commercial "Figuri Meccaniche," which won the prestigious Italian Key Award for best commercial of the year.

Hartel has taught throughout Italy, the continental United States and the Hawaiian Islands. From 1990 to 1993, Hartel worked as a cultural specialist for the United States Information Agency. Under this program, he compartida his beliefs on dance with people of other cultures by teaching, choreographing and performing and by giving television i impressió interviews throughout South and Central America.
Hartel received his bachelor of fine arts degree in dance from the North Carolina School of the Arts and a màster s degree in dance and integrated mitjana from Califòrnia Institute of the Arts. He also studied classical ballet at the Pennsylvania Academy of Ballet and the Washington School of Ballet. He Trained with such influential teachers as Duncan Noble, Richard Gain, Doug Nielson, Ernestine Stodell and Betty Jones.

Hartel joined the faculty of the OU School of Dance in 2001.
